Womens Baseball! Essendon Baseball Club has an active Womens Baseball program, which has supported women’s sport via Womens Baseball teams since 2012/2013.
The Bombers currently have 3 summer teams in the Victorian Summer Baseball League coached by women’s coach Amanda Telford. Essendon welcomes new and experienced players to our program.
The current program emphasizes enjoyment of women’s baseball, while supporting development from beginner to an elite level in this team game.
We have supported 3 womens teams since season 2022/2023. We were fortunate enough to secure a Change Our Game grant in that year. This grant has been invested in the training development of our women’s baseball players and training equipment to monitor our development.
For Essendon female juniors, the program provides an integrated pathway for female athletes, to play the team game they love, transitioning from Junior Baseball to Womens baseball.
A women’s sport available to those aged 13 and up.

Baseball training is held on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm.

Game Time
The Summer 2024-25 season will be a home and away format and games are played on a Saturday. The Premier Reserves (our 2’s) is the game before the Premier team, however please check the fixture for an accurate time. The Division 3 team will play in the VSBL Womens Regional North Competition.

History
Essendon Baseball Club’s Women’s program originally started in the latter 1990s and ran for a few seasons. The current program restarted in 2012/13, coached by Ron Copperwaite.
