You have two very important considerations when buying a Baseball Bat for your child.
Firstly, you need to choose a bat that is the right size for them so they can they swing the bat – they need this to enjoy the game.
Secondly, and balanced off against the first consideration, is whether the bat is within the baseball leagues regulations, where your child will be playing. Particularly, you need to consider the “barrel size”, the “drop” and the technology (eg wood v tin or composite, BBcor). Most of these regulations exist for the safety of children playing the game. So do your own research on the requirements of the league and talk with the bat supplier about these items when buying.
Absolutely! Baseball is a great game which girls can play and enjoy. Essendon Baseball Club has a strong Junior Baseball program where boys and girls play baseball together and a Women’s Baseball available to girls 13 and up.
